Vellum Series
Bed of Roses is a series made from layered paper and vellum on paper. There are three or more layers to each piece. Watercolor, graphite or gouache have been applied to the various layers with cut-outs to reveal edges or expose layers of hand-painted and drawn collage papers. The compositions are a deconstruction of water, waves and blossoms to heighten movement, as if one's gaze was swirling around and through these elements.

Each piece of the series, Pink everywhere, is made with watercolor and graphite on watercolor paper. Attached at top is a vellum overlay with a (second) graphite drawing.

Show detailDown By the Water and A Person Might Flicker Out (two separate series) are made with watercolor and graphite on two individual pieces of vellum that are then hand sewn together on the left side. In this way, the underneath layer shows through the top layer in varying degrees.
