UnNatural Zoom: Everything Now

UnNatural Zoom: Everything Now, watercolor/graphite on vellum (5 layers), 75″x40″ 2021, was installed for the month of October 2021 in the storefront of Table Wine, Jackson Heights, NYC. The piece is constructed from five layers of vellum. Each paper layer is painted with watercolor and includes graphite drawing details. The five layers of the scroll were placed together in a sandwich mount suspended from the ceiling of the window and lit from behind. This work was made possible through the generous support of Table Wine and a 2021 City Artist Corps Grant, NYC. While the piece was accessible to anyone walking by, viewers could also connect with the installation on social media. Images were posted and conversation among the community of viewers occurred each day of the exhibition. Opening up conversation about the extraordinary in the ordinary, to regard our view together was my aim. UnNatural Zoom: Everything Now, undertakes both capturing time experienced during the pandemic, and grasping it back.
